Peter bought himself a bad-assed Downhill bike. He's owned it for four days, been out on it once, biked it twice as a "commuter", signed up for a downhill race next weekend!, will be doing some trail building at Dry Hill in Port Angeles tomorrow for some free shuttle rides at the actual "big kid" park, and will be representing The Broken Spoke at his race as well as being a mechanic stand!
I have been doing work for the Longest Day of Trails in PT this summer solstice. I think it's all about set up. I've sent out the first bought of advertising and will be needing to do a little more! I will hopefully get a little help from the crew for the rest of the grunt work.
It's been nice having another task to work on... on top of Lost in the Wood's two races this season, the long weekend home in June for my beautiful cousin Stephanie's wedding, Pete's 24 hour Solo race at Round and Round in Spokane on Memorial Day weekend, the time my family, new family and friends will be here in PT for MY wedding!, the kayak shop and all that goodness, getting my gown ready, settling into our new place (finding time and being in the right mental place to want to unpack boxes and settle!), researching and discerning about what sort of job i should eventually end up having, hanging out with my newest friend Halsey, and so much more!
Needless to say, although the wind is blowing and the waves are high, I'm looking forward to a nice summery fruity/salty adult beverage... Today is MY Friday night! and I happen to have a three day weekend (give or take a meeting and a few small tasks here and there).
My how time is flying! Does it only get busier and busier? How does one keep the REAL stuff in focus?
