updated stuff

What is up in the Nicole, Pete and Ashke world?
well, well, well: Ashke scared off a raccoon last night by barking his head off. That was cool. He's still working on not pooping on the sidewalk, i mean he has a whole yard to poop in, and for some reason the sidewalk is the so-called best spot.
I have been figuring out what I'd like to do. I know that change is in the air... it feels like spring. and I need to keep with that feeling and get myself back in line. I found a book on my shelf and the following are a few excerpts from it:
"In order to be creative you have to know how to prepare to be creative"(9).
"I don't recommend living without distractions as a permanent lifestyle for anyone. It's too monastic. But anyone can do it for a week, and the payoff will surprise you. It's a simple equation: Subtracting your dependence on some fo the things you take for granted increases your independence. It's liberating, forcing you to rely on your own ability rather than your customary crutches" (28).
I have also been mountain biking a little more (thank you Deb and Margaret!) (and Pete and Nate!). I put in my first hour of volunteer time at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center- that was pretty good to get started and to get the mass mailing done. I have been working on the Lost in the Woods Race Series. The September race at Anderson lake is a GO! Sweet!!!! and many other major things. (like wedding stuff) (and summer work schedule) (etc). Pete's birthday is in two weekends and we'll be going away for the weekend. i really look forward to a vacation, and time alone with Pete.
Pete just got his new bike for the summer. He's been out on it three times now! Nate, Matt, Yellow-dog and he are at Banner Forest right now. What a cool place. He is really planning on doing 24 hours of Round and Round solo this year, that's on Memorial Day weekend.
There really aren't any new photos so I thought I'd at least add one of the shop.

This blog has been a short overview of what's sort of on my mind lately and what's going on with Pete and I for all you family in the MN blizzard of the year. Write, call, send packages :)

peace.
