Since Friday, each time I get Elinor out of her bed, while she's playing, when she's hungry, etc, I hear her angelic little voice say: "momma I want candy". It makes me smile and laugh(inside) as much as I can. then I need to do the "is now an appropriate time for candy?" thought, and make a decision. Mostly she's compliant. I figure once it's gone it's gone right?
but then what?
We went to the pumpkin patch and picked pumpkins -one for E, one for the baby- on Wed we carved them and she got to experience seeds and pumpkin insides, and a jackolantern. I'ts been good seeing her do new things will zest.
On Halloween, she dressed as a lion and we went to the parade. we watched all sorts of creatures pass us. of all ages! then we went to a few downtown businesses to trick or treat, and she got about 20 pieces of candy. (she has currently eaten about half of them.)
on our way home we stopped at Sue and Richard's. we ate dinner then went on a "spooky bat hunt" (as she thinks halloween means spooky bats), which lead us to neighbor Craig and Mara's house for a trick or treating session. a little chat, and we were on our way home for some halloween books, count down to gramma, and bed time.
