Pete and I brought Elinor on her first backcountry camping trip in the North Cascades a few weekends ago. I realized I never posted about it. I think we both brushed it into the "been there done that, here's how we'll do it better next time" pile. and it's been out of our minds since.
I want to share some of the pictures, as we're not going to share any of the stories. :) Worry not all you worriers, we'll be doing it again in the future- it has not spoiled us.
Elinor's first (memorable) weekend in "the mountains" (as she calls it)
Mostly she just liked walking near the edge, stopping to pick up every rock in the trail and getting closer to the edge and throwing the rock downhill. It was un bear ably hot and we all got hungry and tired. And it's hard to describe to a two year old what Leave No Trace, and bear country means... We'll try again, just not this fall.
