June!

I haven't posted in a whale of a while. Ha ha. Elinor and I joined my friend Tadjar and her mom and dad on a whale watching tour on one Sunday morning June 8th. We paid for a 4 hour tour through Puget Sound Express and it was an absolute DELIGHT!
We trecked about an hour north to the San Juan Island and connected up with a small pod of 4 orcas. We were the first to spot them (as opposed to another whale watch tour group). We watched them for just under an hour. After needing to turn around and get started heading back. Low and behold, something the captain said never happens: we spotted another orca pod! This one had 7 orcas. They were residents (aka locals) and there was a baby! So cool watching them surface and continue to do their thing while we watched them. It finally was our time to leave (late!) and we headed back to shore with smoother travel than on the way out.  The entire tour ended up being just over 5 hours. Elinor still talks about it.

Pete got the first "i love you" from our little girl. I had never heard her say it until she said it to Pete one day. It was heart warming. She now says it to us both: "Oluv you"

peas! The garden is in full force. and the peas are delightful. yum yum.

Elinor has changed her name from No-Nor (used to be Nor-Nor) to Oh-nor. Fun to hear her catch and speak different sounds. She repeats french words very well.

On one of the Saturday's Pete had off we went strawberry picking in Sequim. We picked there last year and loved the produce. This year, Elinor ate a *few* more. ha ha ha. Pete was a master picker and I plodded along eating, watching E, and picking. We came home with 45 pounds of berries which we promptly washed, froze a third, dehydrated a third and canned a third. yum. saving up for winter.

Then a week later our peaches we had ordered through the Co-op arrived and we promptly (well over three nights) canned and jammed those. Yumm.

Elinor has learned the simple joy of riding her Dad. It's ridiculously funny seeing them trek around the house. I finally caught it on camera.
