Pete celebrated his 33rd birthday on Friday by waking up early, going for a surprise car ride to a surprise weekend away. I had planned it all, only telling him he needed Friday through Monday off.

We hopped the Blackball Ferry, named M.V. Coho, and headed north to Canada. We spent the four full days up in Victoria, B.C.

We braved the wind, rain, snow to see some great sights, eat at many amazing places, and go to the indoor Butterfly Gardens (Elinor's first bus ride-) which were 80 degrees and 80% humidity. We walked for kilometers, and hours. We window shopped, we had coffee, we bought fudge, we looked at so many interesting things. We stayed at the Ocean Island Inn in a beautiful room, and mostly had time to "do nothing but explore".
It was a fantastic visit. And hence we only got a few pictures :) As it always goes.
