I'm starting to think about birthdays.
As Pete celebrated his today, the
next one up in our family is in seven weeks. Little Elinor will be
completing her first rotation around the sun. Already. One whole year.
All I can think about is carrot cake. carrot chocolate cake with
frosting. and icecream. and a barbeque. and beer for us, and for her a little
glass of whole cow milk. and a few friends. and lots of photos. maybe
even some movie taking.
I'd like to plant a tree for her that day. one
that will always be hers. maybe she'll help us dig the hole or bury it.
I'm thinking Rainier Cherry. still looking for the best one. maybe some presents but not many. she'd
rather eat or be busy looking at cool things.
Her hair is growing in. She's standing on things. She's fast crawling.
She kneels. She babbles. She sings. she reaches for everything. She
watches everything. she holds her hand out to you when she wants you.
She is the star at Storytime on Thursdays. (Pete came with us for the
first time, and got the full experience of it all!) She listens to "no".
She likes walks, and bike rides, and car rides. She sleeps very well.
She problem solves, and thinks about things that are new, it's quite fun
to watch. she's a good little baby who's changing everyday.
