Another month

Has it already been another month gone by?
WOWIE. I've been busy. oh so busy. bzzzz.
-Rhody Tour with the PTBA, and follow up meetings to see how we can change it for next year.
-Planning curriculum with local LCI David, to offer lessons through the City and the YMCA's summer enrichment camps... quite a few to come.
-Volunteering a few hours to do "Bike Safety" talks with the Jefferson County Park and Rec's summer camps at HJ Carroll park. Planning on setting aside time to do a full on curriculum for next year.
-Working at Dog Townsend! Being paid to pet dogs! ... and pick up poop, micromanage doggie play, make meals and clean up lots of dog hair.
-Playing with Halsey two days a week. We still rock out on our full days together. She's such an amazing little side kick. She turned three absolutely three years old on June 10th.
-PS this picture is of some thousand mini yellow spiders that just hatched and are heading out into the "real" world
-Coordinating (all advertising, preparations, and day-of registrations) the Longest Day of Trails fundraising event for three local trail care-taker organizations: Jefferson Trails Coalition, Quimper Trails Association, and Pacific Northwest Trails Association.
-Women's mountain bike rides! on the 16th of each month, we head out on a pre-designated course to ride with women and have a good time doing some basic mtn biking. Bou-yah!
-Lots of behind the scenes work at the bike shop. I love it. I love that Pete has a job he loves going to, doing and being a part of. I love how I'm involved too.
-Preparing to move to Uptown Mid July.
-Lost in the Woods races. soo much to doooo!!! Help me find pre-registered riders okay?! Thanks.
-Drinking wine with Pete
-Walks on the beach, dreams of kayaking, going mountain biking, the drive-in movie theatre, listening to books on tape !three in the last month!, heading down to Hood River, OR for a short weekend, packing boxes, selling our shed, eating a few select great meals with friends, hmm...

Okay, this list makes me sound like I never sleep. I do! at about 9:30pm I turn into a pumpkin. I get up at 7am daily... except Sundays, my day of rest.
I love life. I love Pete.

And a poem from my dear friend Larry. Hopefully he doesn't mind that I put it on my blog:

Barred Owl Encounter

Hey whacha doin’ owl dude

standin’ in the middle of this country road

6 a.m.

not eatin’ a mouse you caught or nothin’

big blinkin’ eyes watchin’ me

as I pedal my bike closer

still not movin’

‘til you fly up in this dead aspen in the ditch

keep starin’ at me with a look that says

who you? insteada hoooo

I reply hey owl dude doncha remember me

it was just last week you dive-bombed me

right in this same place, same time of day

so close to my head I had to duck

And now you sit in your dead aspen perch

blinkin’ and askin’ who you? again,

though I’ve already pedaled up the hill by then
