Birthdays

Hello everyone.
Pete and I celebrated his birthday by heading to the Olympic National Park. It was three full days of fun. We left Saturday morning and went to breakfast at a small cafe in Port Angeles. Next we went straight to Rialto Beach. we spent nearly six hours watching the waves, surf and driftwood. We loaded our wet shoes, and tired bodies into the car and drove two miles to Mora Campground paid the NPS our $12 camping fee and made Bear Creek Darn Good Chili for dinner, with s'mores for dessert. After making more hot tea, we went back to the beach for some sweet full moon shots over the horizon. Back in our cozy little sleeping bags we slept restfully until the crows and jays gave us the good morning call. A chilly brekkie let us pack and get on our adventure to the Hoh-Rain forest! Beautiful. I look forward to doing the Hall of Mosses again when everything is in full growth season. After our stint at the rain forest we continued south to Lake Quinault and checked into our hotel for the night. Ha! take that champagne, complimentary glasses, strawberries and a warm bed! We spent time in their heated pool, sauna and relaxed together on the king sized bed. Morning came oh too quickly... we ate breakfast at the lodge, cleaned the room and did the late check out gig. On our drive north, we stopped at priceless Ruby Beach and did a small hike. Hopped back in the car, continued past the land of the werewolves and vampires, and trucked our little bottoms back to PT. We wished it was longer!Alas birthdays come once a year and we get to celebrate Pete's again next year! Lucky us. "Happy Birthday Pete"
Lots of love, us
