long live the fire season

Hello family and friends that actually read this blog. Pete is in the city full of sins right now at the ever popular "Interbike". I'm sure he's loving every minute of it.
Nicole is in Wisdom, still plinking away at the fire season and working her little butt off everyday wielding her chainsaw. Things are going well and while she's partially ready for the change of seasons, she knows that she'd better darn well be happy with what she can do right now with her time and talent.
Fire season update:
Cold weather at night- in the twenties- and warm weather in the day- in the sixties- which is a pretty nice range... in all practicality, perfect sawing weather.
last monday was a false alarm smoke report.
last tuesday to saturday our engine was called to a fire use fire in ID. I went with two others.
this monday was a small 1/10th acre fire
today was another small fire.
so in the last two weeks i've had more fire time than in almost the last month! what a crazy weather turn of events... maybe el nino or global warming really exists....

Job update:
Pete and Nicole are on pins and needles (sort of:) ) waiting to hear from the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew position. the closing date is oct 3rd. so please keep your fingers crossed for us.
Bangtail and Three Rivers are lined up but with so many opportunities its fun to keep looking around!

Fun update:
MOAB here we come! mountain bikes, camping, racing, relaxing and a bit of drinking here we come... i'm oober looking forward to this trip south and new experience. plus it'll be with some good people and make some good times. la de da!
